Wine & Design | Dutch Masters| Friday April 11th
Dutch Still Life floral paintings were dark, beautiful and sometimes morbidly introspective paintings, reflective of the culture and era in which they were created. Lush blooms such as garden roses and intricate tulips dominated the framed work and often included 'memento mori'- skulls, insects, rotting fruit- reminders of the inevitability of death and the return back to the earth.
During this 2.5 hr class, we will delve briefly into the historical influences on this style of floral design, creating elevated, floriferous designs reminiscent of these paintings. All while sipping delicious PNW wine and enjoying our own beautiful moment on earth.
